I had a great weekend. Matt and I celebrated our 4-year anniversary (do you realize that's how long it takes to get through college?!) on Saturday, and it was a blast. We had breakfast, watched Tropical Thunder (Hilarious, by the way!), went to Salem Willows (see pictures below), cleaned the house (very exciting, actually), and then watched the Olympics. I think we watched Phelps win his 8th gold. It was pretty sweet. :o) We also saw the Lightning Bolt win the mens 100m sprint, which was pretty awesome.
Saturday was a good day. Matt and I were very intentional about being together and just enjoying each other's company. That is definitely one of the things that make our marriage work (after 4 years, I'm starting to sound like an old, married woman!); we genuinely enjoy each other's company. Matt's so funny. He's a great husband, and we really have grown as individuals since we've been together. Matt is able to challenge me in ways that I would not challenge myself, and that is an amazing gift in a husband.

Here's the guy himself. He's getting me a
Raspberry Lime Rickey. For those not in New England, they are an awesome concotion of raspberry syrup, fresh limes and Sprite. Very tasty.
The view from the Willows. Isn't it beautiful?

I loved this woman's shop:
http://seaglassthings.etsy.com Her items are beautiful, unique and I think I convinced her to make sea glass stitch markers. Wouldn't that be beautiful?
Now, it's time for me to complain (just a little). So I understand that NBC and all of the random, new channels
dedicated to the Olympics did not cover the first few rounds of Olympic
tennis competition, but to not show even one minute! Does that make any
sense? There were awesome moments (that I have been able to watch only
on nbcolympics.com). What the deuce?
So, beside NBC's awful bias (only Swimming, Gymnastics and Track
coverage), I have also not seen any coverage of the Olympics on our
local news stations (besides NBC). For Pete's sake, Alicia Sacramone is
from the Boston area, and there is NO coverage of it. I don't get it.
It's the biggest sports competition in the world, and the sports
channels don't even mention it. I really don't get it. Hey Fox, I would
watch your Morning News (as I do every day) if only you let me know
what happened during my sleep like the Today Show does. At least NPR is
covering the Olympics.
That is all for this Monday morning. Happy new week!

Belated Happy Anniversary!
That's a really cute picture of Matt!
@MomBoettcher - Thanks! Matt and I both forgot about it until Thursday. We were going to go to Montreal for a weekend in September, but that has fallen through. So, we didn't have any anniversary plans. We made the best of it.
Yeah, happy belated anniversary!! I can't believe it's already been 4 years - that's so crazy!
I noticed that you were listening to Carla Bruni. Do you like the album? I've only heard bits and pieces of it, but I liked what I heard, and I love it that she turned classic poetry into songs... If you like it, then I'm totally getting it!
And if you like it, then you should probably check out Johnny Flynn's album "A Larum."
Four years? Congrats! Holy cows, how time flies...
I agree with your Olympic coverage (or lack thereof) beef. NBC is kind of out of control. And don't get me started on the commentators!
As fascinating as it was, I'm getting a little tired of reading about your great weekend.
New post, please!
Still waiting for a new post...
